How do I make a recorded call?
1. Open your personal chat with the person you want to call.
2. Tap the audio or video call icon.
3. When both participants have consented to recording and the recording choice appears, select Record to make a recorded call.
4. A voice notification announces recording. After the call, the recording appears in your Call Recording History.
Calling and recording are separate choices. Both participants must consent before a call can be recorded. If you do not want to be recorded, hang up and change the setting that allows recorded calls from that person. Withdrawing your consent applies only to future recordings.
How do I find and download a recording or transcript?
1. Open your profile and select Call Recordings.
2. Find an available call, using the date filter if needed.
3. Select the export icon beside the call, then Export Recording or Export Transcription.
4. Review the information and confirm. The download link is sent to your account email.
A transcript can be requested within the time allowed in the app, if transcription is available for the language of the call. Transcripts are produced by our communications provider, Twilio. Record exports contain call details, not the recording or transcript. Download recordings and transcripts separately while your account remains open, including in Read-Only Mode.
When are recordings and transcripts deleted?
For an open account, including an account in Read-Only Mode, recordings and transcripts are scheduled for deletion on the last day of the calendar month two years after the month of the call. For example, a call made in March 2027 is scheduled for deletion on March 31, 2029.
Calls made before the effective date of the current retention terms are treated as if they were made in that effective month. The effective date appears in the Terms of Service.
If you close your account, or AppClose terminates it as provided in the Terms of Service, your recordings and transcripts instead become scheduled for deletion 365 days after account closure or termination. That date can be earlier or later than the open-account deletion date. Closing your account ends your ability to download them immediately, so download what you need first.
The schedule applies separately to each participant's account. One participant closing an account does not change the other participant's schedule. Open accounts, including Read-Only accounts, receive at least 30 days' notice before scheduled deletion.
Applicable deletion requirements can lead to earlier deletion. A preservation obligation binding on AppClose can suspend deletion. Your own obligation to keep records does not automatically extend AppClose's retention period: download and preserve your copies.
Once a recording or transcript is deleted for your account, it cannot be recovered for you. A copy may remain while it is still within the retention period for another participant's account, or while AppClose is required to preserve it.
Can my professional download calls through AppClose Pro?
No. AppClose Pro access and Certified Electronic Business Records exports do not include call recordings or transcripts. Recordings are available only to the participants in the call. Download your copies and share them separately if appropriate.
See Section 3 of the Terms of Service and Section 4 of the Privacy Policy for retention details.
