AppClose Pro lets you request temporary access to monitor chat communication between co-parents. You can view chat history as well as chats occurring in real time. Clients can select 2, 7, 14 (default), 30, 60, and 90-day durations, or create a custom sharing duration of any period up to 90 days.
To request access to chat records:
Method 1: from the ‘Share chats’ screen
- Log in to AppClose Pro and select ‘Clients’ from the navigation menu on the left:
- On the ‘Clients’ screen, select the ‘Shared chats’ tab and click ‘Request chat access’:
Note: If you already have requests present, the ‘Request chat’ button is located in the upper right corner of the ‘Shared chats’ screen:
- If you are connected to your client in AppClose Pro, select the client to whom you would like to send an access request. When ready, click ‘Next’:
Alternatively, if you are not connected to your client in AppClose, you may request access by selecting the ‘Cient email’ email radio button and entering their email address. NOTE: The email address entered must be the same email address the recipient used to create their AppClose account.
- You will receive a notification asking you to confirm your selection. Click ‘Send request’:
- You will receive a confirmation that your request has been sent. Click ‘Close’:
Your client will receive an email informing them you have requested access:
Your client will be directed to a page on which they can select the duration of time they’d like to grant access - up to 90 days. When your request has been granted, you will receive an email notification:
Method 2: From an individual client page:

6. You will receive a confirmation that your request has been sent. Click ‘Close’:
Your client will receive an email informing them you have requested access and you will be notified once your request has been approved or declined.
NOTES:
- Requests expire after 7 days. After 7 days, you will need to resend the request.
- Clients may provide access for up to 90 days.
- Once the access duration set by the client expires, you will need to request access again
- Shared-chat access is read-only: you can view the conversation and its shared events, expenses and requests, but you cannot post in it. To export it you need a separate authorization from the same client (see How do I export chat communication between co-parents?).
- Access ends on the date your client chose, or earlier if your client withdraws it or disconnects from you.
- Access does not include call recordings or transcripts. Those are available only to the participants in the call, who can download them in the AppClose app and provide them to you.
- Access does not include your client's chats with other professionals, or anything your client shared only with a particular circle member.
- Shared chats contain information about the other co-parent and often about children. Handle them under your professional obligations; once you download or copy anything, AppClose has no control over it.
